Structure Deck 14, Advent of the Emperor, is going to be released on 15th Dec (Japan). Emperor is basically "Monarch" in Japan, and this means, yes... there is going to be a Monarch Structure Deck.
This deck is specializing in what is called "Aggrocosmos", using Out of Play stuff with the usual Monarch deck to create an interesting variant.
Monarchs got messed over a bit by the last ban list, but Monarchs still have 3 Gravekeeper Spys, the Apprentice Engine and so on. You could even use Giant Germ & Creature swap to do damage and create tributes.
However, one thing which made Monarchs ok was that they were RARE and hard to get. But now you get every single monarch available in this set, including a new Dark Monarch.
The Dark Monarch (In English; Gaius the Wicked Monarch) is nothing special, still 2nd to Raiza, sure, it works with DDV, and increases fiend + DW deck power, but it still isn't absolutly fantastic for the straight monarch deck.
New cards, like Kaiser Sacrifice, Dimension Chemistry, D.D. Revival, the dark emperor thing and Emperor Order are ok or pretty good.
Kaiser Sacrifice is a card which can keep up hand count in Monarch decks, Dimension Chemistry is an ok card when using removal stuff. DDR is nothing special.
But, notice how monarch effects can't backfire if you chain Emperor Order. Emperor Order is still weak though, being an ok-ish dead-monarch-draw stopper if you know what I mean.
So, overall, SD14 isn't that great, it just makes Monarchs easier to get, which in itself is just... bad...
Oh well?
